Parker J. Cole has once again thrilled me with another installment in her Sins of the Flesh series. This book involves characters from the series that I did not particularly like. However, before the first chapter was even finished, I was captivated by them and rooting for their healing.
“WILL YOU WALK INTO MY PARLOUR?” SAID THE SPIDER TO THE FLY?
Daffodil Simmons is a spider, and all the world is her fly. Her latest scheme for revenge against the two men who abandoned her—her father and her former lover—seems to be going as planned until . . .
. . . ANOTHER SPIDER ENTERS THE WEB . . .
It’s a battle of wits against a powerful foe. Will Daffodil gain the revenge she craves? Or will she be trapped by her own threads?
Daffodil has been around since the first book, and as I mentioned, she wasn’t my favorite character – I could have cared less about her storyline. But this amazingly talented author has a way of endearing the reader to even the most despised character. I was hooked by the first few paragraphs, cheering for the characters, and eagerly reading to see if their heart-wrenching story would ever have a happy ending.
Fast-paced is an understatement. This story has more twists and turns than a roller coaster ride – and that is what you feel like you are on. Just as you’re holding your breath in anticipation for where you think the story is going to go, she turns in another direction. And the message that she threads throughout the story is so beautiful that it left me in tears.
Parker J. Cole is an artist when it comes to painting a scene or sculpting a character. She truly is a Picasso with words.
Full stars for this wonderful book.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
